Please Help Me! TWU or TAMU?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have been accepted to both the TWU Houston and Texas A&M Health Science Center program for Fall 2010 and I cannot decide which to choose!!

I know both are great schools and differ in their own unique ways, both have pros and cons, but I just don't know which one to attend. I am at TAMU College Station right now, so I'm already familiar with the town, it is quieter, and the class size will be smaller which means more intimate atmosphere, and the housing's cheaper. But, I know the school has brand new program.

But, TWU is in the heart of the medical center. What a great school to get experience and I know the reputation/teachers are phenomenal. I have heard it's the best in the state and offers a top-notch education. Also, I would be able to take pathophysiology separately from pharmacology, which is not an option at TAMU (they must be taken together at TAMU). Yet, I'm not a fan of big city life as it kind of intimidates me. Also, I would be away from my boyfriend if I do indeed decide to go to TWU.

So, please, I pray someone will read this and give me a little bit of information or hope because time's ticking for me. I'm dyin' here!!! :uhoh3:

Bump! I am also going to TAMU and plan on applying to TAMU-HSC and TWU when i get my prereq's done so I would love to hear what other people have on this opinion. I wish you the of luck for whatever choice you make! and Congradulations!!!!!

Oh, if you dont mind me asking what made you competitive on your application? I heard TAMU-HSC is very hard to get into. You're awesome!:yeah:

Thanks a lot! You made me smile!

For my application competitiveness, I had a nursing internship in Dublin, Ireland last summer which I talked about in my essay and how it impacted me, etc. My overall GPA is a 3.67 but I had only a modest amount of community/volunteer work. It wasn't like I was volunteering every weekend, but I wasn't totally without it. I got a mix of As and Bs in my science classes... chemistry was tough ;)

Good luck with your prerequisites! :redbeathe

how do you get an internship when youre just in pre nursing classes?
