What helped me with balancing those equations is that I just concentrated on finding ANY number that, when applied, caused it to balance, and then went back in and simplified. Yes, it's more work, but when it's late at night, or you are taking an exam, at least you will get the right answer.

I have been beating my brains out trying to solve a chemistry problem. I'm sure it is something simple that I'm just not getting, but can anyone help me? I can't get this equation to balance. Fe + CO2 > Fe2O3 +CO. I have tried to balance it several times, and I can't get it to work out. I also tried doubling since the O won't balance out. Thanks
