plan to move to Central Fl from Houston

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi, I was wondering if I could get any information from current nurses that work and live around the central Florida area? We plan to move to the lakeland-Bartow-Winter Haven area and I'm clueless to where to look for work. I currently work in the Houston Texas Medical Center and do Mother/baby-Newborn nursery and have 5+ years experience and my BSN. Can anyone help know what pay could be? and what Hospitals would be best for me to look into with the area I have experience in? Also whats a good area to live in? I think we're going to be looking into new homes but the schools concern me the most, I have a child in each: elementary-middle-high school!

Thanks!

I would look at Lakeland Regional. I've never been staff there but did clinical a there a while back and it was great. Lakeland also has a cute downtown with interesting restaurants. I only know Lincoln for elementary is supposedly a school of choice for a lot of families... It is IB.

Hello,

I know this post is late but I have worked at Lakeland Regional back in 2006 it is a great hospital. Don't know what pay is like as of now but it was competitive back then. The hospital is beautiful and I remember I used to love their cafeteria. I lived in the Brandon which is a suburb of Tampa so I'm not familiar with the schools and areas, sorry I can't help you with that. My drive was about 35 min. I grew up in the Brandon area and I can suggest that area is a great family area with great schools. Good luck in your move/search.
