Piercings & Tattoos?

From a patient perspective, do you think that tattoos and piercings on a nurse may cause the patient to judge and expect lower quality of care?

Good question. I think some do and some don't obviously. There is the once that watch what you do and the way you treat them and then make up their mind and than there is others who just expect you to not be as professional as your coworkers might be. I have a lip piercing and a tattoo on my left arm which you can see when wearing a scrub but nobody has ever said anything. I guess they are just so happy that there still is people helping them in this very moment and throughout their entire time at the hospital.

I am heavily tattooed with one piecing, my current job allows me to show my sleeves. The geriatric community was less judgmental than I thought. I am judged on my skills and not on my looks. Not every job is the same.
