Phone Triaging an out of state caller

I’m a RN in CA, and a topic came up in our clinic today.

If I’m only licensed in CA, can I take a triage a call from an out of state caller?

What if the caller is a CA resident and a regular if the clinic, but is traveling and in a different state? Is it legal to triage them?

Any insight or links to this specific topic with the BRN would be greatly appreciated.
