Phoenix, AZ as a first assignment?

Hey everyone. New here, new to to travel, somewhat new to nursing. Been working in the ER for a bit more than a year, and although it's not a level 1, it is the busiest hospital in town (avg of 250-300 a day). I am about to start my traveling adventures, and I am interested in hitting the west coast first, but I have hit a snag with the licenses and such.

All that said, an opportunity has come up in Phoenix, and I have been called for an interview. Now, I'm not a big politics or population guy, but I do read the news and I am aware of the political and population aspect of the state. Because this is my first assignment, I want to be as comfortable as possible in it, and would love to not have to worry about shenanigans that are completely unrelated to nursing or my job. I hear AZ is a great landing spot for travelers, but should I expect any heat outside of the ER walls (or worst, in them)? I looked for reviews on the website before posting this, but could not find them. I'm not necessarily all that savvy with my searches anyway :/

Not quite sure what your question is about AZ? I work and live here in Phoenix. I have met many travelers coming through the ICU's (where I work) that have really enjoyed it here. You will be coming for the summer, so yes it will be hot. I love it here, but will be starting my first travel assignment in August. If you have anything specific, I would be happy to answer.
