Hi! If any of you are like me, always trying to be over prepared, you want to know everything about the program you're enrolling in. I know this isn't nursing specifically, but it's close.
I am enrolled in the phlebotomy technician program at traviss career center, fall 2015. The course is 6 weeks long, with 3 of those 6 weeks being clinicals.
Only 6 students are invited to attend the course. Clinicals are held at various Watson clinic locations. CPR traoning is part of the class. The first two weeks of class are almost entirely online. The first day of class is introduction, paperwork, and (urine) drug test. Uniform is required, it is Turquoise v-neck tops, chocolate brown pants, (majority) white shoes. The issued letter seems to require the most specific uniform types, but really, just get the right colors with the neck being a V. The instructor's name is Mrs. Godwin, she isn't very picky about uniform. She doesn't seem to be too pick about anything, she seems very reasonable, confident and calm.
The CPT test for licensure as a phlebotomist is not included in the class, but is covered near the end.
School hours are from 7:30-2:30, but it seems that we will be allowed to leave early most days.
I will update as the class continues. Please feel free to ask questions!

When exactly was the urine test? In the morning or noon time?
