What is the difference between the drugs Valsartan and Enalapril?

valsartan is in a group of drugs called angiotensin ii receptor antagonists. valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.

vasotec (enalapril) is a high blood pressure medication known as an ace inhibitor. it works by preventing a chemical in your blood called angiotensin i from converting into a more potent form that increases salt and water retention in your body.

got this from drugs.com | prescription drugs - information, interactions side effects which is amazing. i work in a pharmacy and our clinical pharmacology link for the pharmacist to use is just like this website. it also said that valsartan is used in patients that can't handle ace inhibitors. hope this helps.
