PGCC Petitioning Fall 2022

Published

Hello! I have been searching through Allnurses for a while for any insight into how competitive the nursing program at PGCC is. I have seen some forums, but they are from several years ago, so I would love to get anyone's take that has been accepted into the program within the last 3 years. I know that others would really appreciate you sharing your experiences, so please share any stats regarding petitioning (points, GPA, TEAS score). Experiences of being rejected at first, but then being accepted. I know it would definitely help all of the other students going to PGCC that are looking for help. Also, what is the range of points that are usually accepted? How low do you know that they have accepted to in recent years.

Hi there,

I am currently petitioning for their program (Fall 2022). I was rejected last semester for (Spring 2022). As far as the point system goes, I’m not sure how low they go for the point system. My points add up to 27, but I did really well on the TEAS. I changed my major throughout my college career, so I took classes that actually took away from my total points. My overall TEAS was 78 and my reading score was 87. I would love to hear back from others petitioning for this fall. So far I haven’t received an acceptance or rejection. The decision deadline is May 2nd.  Fingers crossed

Thank you for sharing! I have a few questions if you don’t mind. When you first applied, did you have the same amount of points? If you don mind sharing what the reason was that you didn’t get in. I’m really nervous. I’ve done everything that I can, there is really nothing more that I can do. My points total 24, and I got an 89.3 on my TEAS. So I hope I get in.

Yes, I had 27 points when I first applied. But I retook my TEAS again this year because last year I had a 65. I know the TEAS score and reading score plays a factor in the final decision especially in the event of a tie. But your scores are great to me. It really depends on who we are up against each semester. Good luck to you. Also Have you heard anything back yet?

I was told that I didn’t get in because other students ranked higher than me. I’m nervous also but no news is good news. We are still in until we receive a declination but lets hope that never comes. On the bright side…last semester I was rejected very early on (11/19/21) and the decision deadline was (12/1/21)

Nope, I haven’t heard anything. Thank you for sharing again.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Hey did you get accepted?

No, I wasn’t. I’m moving on to another program. Were you?

No, unfortunately. I’m going to try other schools. I wish you all the best in everything though! :)
