Permanent Resident for NTP/AF?

I'm a nursing student interested in the Nurse Transition Program.

On the USAF website, it says to be commissioned you can be either a citizen or a legal permanent resident.

Talked to a recruiter today, was told that this is not so. I have to be a US citizen to be eligible for the NTP and as a permanent resident I can only enlist, which is def not something I wanna do..

I'm confused because I have chatted with USAF's online representative and was told that I can be comissioned....

Which is true???

I think the issue with this arises with your security clearance which is only needed if you advance to NCO or Officer ranks. Where are you from?
