PennState Medical July 2021 Nurse Residency Program

Hi everyone!

I am interested in applying to the PennState Hershey Medical Center’s new graduate nurse residency July 2021 Cohort and was wondering if anyone else was applying. Also, does anyone who already is or was in the program know how difficult it is to get accepted? I have an acceptable amount of patient experience since I have been a patient care associate for over two years, however, it is with adults not infants. Do you think I will have a shot with getting accepted in to the NICU?

Did you end up applying? I applied back in September just waiting to see if I will get an interview. My top choice was critical care. Good luck to you!

Yes I did! Have you heard back yet? I applied back at the end of November and haven’t heard anything yet.

No I haven't heard anything yet either. But was told that we would probably hear something by the end of this month ?

Did anyone else interview or accept a position with Hershey for July 2021? I just accepted a position this week on the Medical ICU. I am looking forward to meeting new people!

I still haven’t heard back yet. How was the interviewing process?

It wasn't bad. I interviewed for both MICU and ED over zoom on a Friday and was offered both positions the following Monday. I hope you will still hear something!!

Hi Tosha! I also accepted a position with Hershey for the July 2021 residency! I’ll be working on the Women’s Health unit.

For those who accepted a position for the July 2021 residency, did you have to sign a binding contract?
