Congratulations on your acceptance! While I can't offer you any advice, I am actually here to seek advice from you! =)
I am currently pursuing a BSN at UT Houston and have the same aspirations to be accepted into Penn or Johns Hokpins MSN/MPH program. Is there any advice you can give me? Do you mind telling me or messaging me your personal stats (GPA, GRE scores, experience) so I can see what I need to have in order to be a competitive candidate? Please please, I would really appreciate it since not many people out there are being accepted into such programs. I thank you in advance and I wish you the best of luck in furthering your career!
I work at Hopkins and am looking into nursing programs. I got my MPH at Hopkins, so my biased, but I think fair, opinion is that if you want an MPH, go to a school of public health. Hopkins is the #1 public health school, and Penn only has a MPH program out of the school of medicine, I think.
That being said, I think Penn has the stronger nursing program all around. Hopkins tends to favor returned peace corps volunteers.
Any insight into Penn versus Johns Hopkins? I was accepted into both Accelerated BSN/MSN programs for family nurse practitioner. It's going to be a tough choice!
Me too - I have been accepted to both programs as well for ABSN/MSN/MPH. Also a tough choice for me (but so happy to have this choice to make!). My plan is to take a look at financial aid offers and hope that helps me decide. Unfortunately, JHU seems to take much longer to give financial aid information. I just got my Penn info, and the Penn Grant is very attractive! What is your strategy for deciding, and does anyone have a sense of whether JHU is generous with financial aid?

Grig, did you apply early decision for johns hopkins? if you decide to choose penn, how do you plan to tell hopkins you're not attending?

Hello everyone- I was wondering if there are any current students out there in either Penn or Johns Hopkins Bsn/MSN. I have found out that I just got accepted to both, and now I have to make a decision soon. I am curious if anyone has pursued an MSN/MPH at Penn and what they thought? What about Hopkins with the MSN/MPH? How are the respective schools? I have heard Baltimore is a bit dodgy so I was wondering if that is a problem? How are the faculty and clinicals? How's the student culture?
If anyone can give me their two cents regarding the pros/cons of both, I'd greatly appreciate it! Although I interviewed at both schools, it was difficult to get a good reading b/c everyone was in interview mode....
Thanks!
