Peds RN needing general travel information

Specialties Travel

I have 10 years experience as a Certified Pediatric RN. I am in the midwest and would like to start traveling. I am interested in San Diego California . I don't know where to start. I don't do nights. Is this a problem? What are people talking about when they refer to housing taxes? Has anyone ever requested to be put up in a "corporate furnished apartment". I will be taking a leave of absence from my current job. I currently have benefits, but don't don't if the insurances are covered for x months during the leave of absence. What questions should I be asking a travel agency before commiting?

I'm on my first assignment in the midwest from Florida. It shouldnt be a problem that you cant work nights just make sure that it says in your contract that you will only work days. You need to decide what kind of benefits you want. Private housing VS. shared VS. stipend and you should know if utilities, phone and cable are included. Do you want to drive or fly and be given a rental car stipend. Weekly VS. biweekly pay. Do they reimburse u for travel or give u the money up front. When do the beneifts start and are they free. Do they reimburse for licensing. Oh yea, a question I forgot to ask was if you will be allowed overtime.

If you dont claim a permanent residence that you are traveling from then you will be taxed more.

Thanks, nsFAMU for the information. It was very helpful.
