Hello All,
I am interested in moving to London and have been speaking with a travel company recently. I just wanted to get some opinions on the work environment over there. I am a pediatric nurse (med/surg and PICU experience). Here are some things I've asked my recruiter about, but I would love an opinion from anyone who has this kind of experience. Please feel free to add whatever information you think would be helpful to me. Thank you!
-Typical nurse/pt ratio?
-What's charting like?
-What's the nurse/physician relationship like?
-Are there skills we perform in the US that they don't use in the UK?
-Do they have support staff like techs, respiratory therapists, clerks, etc?
-How do shifts work? 12 hour? 8? Night/day/weekend?
-How does management work? Charge nurses, supervisors, unit managers...
-I know London is an expensive city to live in, do travel nurses get paid enough to enjoy the city or would I be penny pinching the whole time? (I don't have any debt to pay off, just the usual bills.)
