Pediatric Nursing in LA

Hi everyone.

I'm graduating from nursing school soon, and I have a huge passion for the pediatric population. I was wondering if any of you who have just been hired to work at Children's LA as a new grad or Mattel's Children Hospital would be willing to share what the application/interview process was like? I'm from out of state and I was wondering for those who have been hired on a Pediatric unit, if you did your senior practicum in a pediatric inpatient setting and did you think it helped? I wanna get a sense of how tough the job market is right now in LA, and if I should move back after nursing school!

It's very tough job market in LA right now... Unfortunately, not enough positions open for new grads (too many new grads right now; not enough jobs.) But, there are some new grad Peds programs that you can try. UCLA and CHLA is on March 5, and Loma Linda Peds is April 2. I'm not sure when Choc will be.
