Hi everyone.
Please take a little of your time to answer these questions. I would truly appreciate it!
What is the patient load on a medical unit?
Is peds a good area to start in for a new grad RN with no CNA or LPN experience?
Is it true that most pediatric nurses tend to be cheerful and friendly because of the populations they deal with?
Than you everyone!!
Any other inputs about peds nursing would be appreciated. I am kinda anxious about the prospect of nursing in this area but also think I just might enjoy it.

What is the patient load on a medical unit? 22 bed specialty peds cardiac
3 patients each, 4 TOPS.
Is peds a good area to start in for a new grad RN with no CNA or LPN experience? Sure, as long as you have the right mindset, are willing to learn, and you remember that peds are NOT just small adults.
Pretty much...but you will find incredibly competent and compassionate nurses in virtually every aspect of nursing - we only hear the stories of the bad one's because (unfortunately) they're the one's who provoke an emotional response within us.
Hope that helps...
