pediatric er or mother baby

So, I have make a difficult decision . I have an offer for a mother/baby unit and peds ED. However, my ultimate final destination is NICU (NEONATAL) I would like to know is one unit better to select over the other since I ultimately want to go to the NICU. Also, to add I feel that with the mother/baby unit I would lose my nursing skills like starting IV’s or giving treatments. Furthermore, if I decide to take motherbaby would it be hard to get back into pediatric nursing
