path to Diabetic Nurse Specialist- nursing student

Hello,

I am a 4th-semester nursing student. My goal is to become a Diabetic Nurse Specialist. I am hoping for advice for nursing positions that work most with diabetics...that I can get as a new grad. I was thinking dialysis, which I am interested in although I have heard dialysis nurses are not appreciated and underpaid which concerns me. 

I know I need to be an RN for two years with 1000 hours of experience working with diabetics. 

what nursing positions work the most with diabetic patients?
