Wahooo! I'm an RN! After lots of blood, sweat, and tears (literally!)...I finally did it and couldn't be more proud or excited.
I took my NCLEX Monday and passed in 75 questions. I had probably 20+ select all that apply, less than 5 pedi/ob, 3 EKG strips (afib, vtach, vfib), and an image ID. I did not know a lot of the content. It's all about being able to take a test and critically think.
This is how I prepped. I got my BSN from Simmons College. We do the Anderson review course, which was amazing. 5 8-hour days. If your school doesn't offer it for free, it's worth the money. I felt like they were telling us secrets. Then, over about two weeks and anywhere from 2 to 8 hours a day, I went through the entire Saunders book (the yellow one, about $50) to refresh my memory. I also did tons of PrepU questions. I did about 1500 questions achieving an overall mastery level of 4.2. I averaged in the 80s on PrepU. Also worth the money. The Saunders CD questions are okay but I liked PrepU better and it's intuitive like the NCLEX (or so they say).
Within 24 hours of passing, I was able to look up my license on the state board of nursing website. What an amazing feeling!!!
Good luck to everyone. Do lots and lots of practice questions and believe in yourself!
Now it's time for ACLS and finding a job!

Congrats on being an RN! I hope my time would come soon. Failed my first attempt and I'm taking again this July. :)
