Hi everyone!
Just got my letter, I passed my NCLEX-RN on the first try! I did use the PVT, and it was accurate. I wanted to share some tips and tricks with y'all. I wrote my test a lot later then my class mates, graduated in June and just wrote in November. However, I only studied for about 5 weeks before the test.
I used:
Saunder's Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN:
This book is heavy on the content. I tried to concentrate only on areas I felt I was lacking knowledge in. I only used the book for about 2 weeks, after which time I got really tired of taking notes and reading endless pages! However, it was helpful in content in areas I wasn't confident in.
UWorld:
Hands down one of the best resources available in my opinion. I began the question bank scoring in the 50s. I concentrated on rationales, and strategies (the ABCs, Maslow's hierarchy) and that really helped improve my scores. By the time I was done, I was scoring in the 70s. I highly recommend this resource. There are 1 week free trials floating around, google them!
Prioritization, Delegation and Management:
I only read the first chapter or two, but it was helpful with prioritization, which is important with the NCLEX.
Good luck to everyone getting ready to write, I hope this post has been of some help :)

Congratulations, RN! I'll take mine on January. I also used Saunders and Kaplan Premier for content and Uworld for questions. It is really great and the rationale is easy to understand. I hope I can pass too on my first try.
