Passed NCLEX...now what??

I just have a question for those who may know about what happens after taking the NCLEX. Do I have to apply for anything else?

I took the NCLEX on 7/11 and found out I passed on 7/13 via quick results....now it has been about a week or so and I have been checking on

https://www.idfpr.com/dpr/licenselookup/default.asp several times a day just to see if my name is up yet. I already looked on the website it doesn't really help with my questions.

It still isn't up and I am getting worried. I start work in little less than a month. I know that I get something in the mail...but what exactly is in the letter? Do I have to apply for anything else? How long does it take for it to come?

I guess I've been so worried about studying for the exam that I never really bothered looking into what happens after the exam. Now I feel kind of stupid. If anyone has some answers that would be great. Thanks guys!

Think about what direction you want to go with your career and run with it. I would suggest looking into what states and areas pay well compared to cost of living and seek those out first. It is suprising how much pay rates vary depending on where you live. Most hospitals dont care what experience you have so yyou can pretty much go whereever you want. Congratulations on passing your NCLEX. Now you can really start learning what it means to be a nurse.

:smiley_aa:mortarboard::yelclap: Congratulations on passing your NCLEX. YOU do not need to apply for anything else. YOU should be getting your license in the mail any day...... RELAX, you have earned it... Check with your board nursing.. Some states are going paperless with their licenses to prevent fraud. A lot of this goes on!!! After I passed the boards 2 years ago, within a week my license was in the mail!!!! Good luck to you on your new job... And no worries.... you will be fine!!!:balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons:

Actually, in Illinois, you'll receive your official results and licensure application within a few weeks. Mine came approximately three weeks after I took the exam. I sent in the application, along with a check for $50, 3 1/2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting to receive my license. :o I'm constantly checking the website...but still, no luck! I plan on calling them if I still haven't heard anything by next week.

good luck & congratulations!

We were told that Dec/Jan and June/July were especially slow times because of the high number of graduates and the fact that many state workers take vacation for the holidays/summer.

Congrats and good luck with your new career.
