Passed AANP FNP exam 1st try

Published

Hello! I just wanted to share my story and encourage other students who were in the same boat as me. I finished my FNP program in August '23 and shortly after went on vacation for two weeks. I was very nervous and did not think I would pass this exam. I didn't study too much during the program so I knew I had a lot of work to do!

I researched some study material and found the Leik review to come up multiple times. I got it from Amazon and developed a timeline on how to study. I only had 8 weeks after I made my exam appointment and quickly reviewed 2-3 chapters every week. I would read the chapter and make notes separately. I completed the post quizzes at the end of each chapter as well. I attempted to complete practice questions on UWorld but not as much. I also got 2 APEA practice tests but would not take these exam results to heart!! I got about ~63-65% on them but still passed. You can do it!

After I had about 3 weeks left, I also purchased the Bronze Clinical Crash Course from Latrina Walden. This was pricey but I think worth it! She very quickly brushes over main topics but it is her keywords that are key. I think she also makes you develop a great attitude as you are approaching the exam.

I took my exam on Nov 7th at 11am, giving me time in the morning to eat a little, walk outside, relax. I took almost all the time as I reviewed my answers. I only changed about 2-3 answers. At the end I got my preliminary 'PASS' and was so grateful! The test was much easier than I anticipated but this is me telling you that if I can do it, so can you!!
