I am new to this site. I have been accepted to Paris Junior College to start June 6th (LVN-RN). I am in my 40s and am very excited to start. I was wondering if anyone had attended PJC recently and had any tips on getting started. Do they have an orientation? If not, what should I bring the first day besides paper and pen. Should I dress casual? I was also wondering what the "average" student age was. I am feeling a little old, haha.

Hi, sorry I cannot answer your questions. I am also new to the site and currently reside in PA getting ready to move to the Fort Worth area. I am looking for good lpn-RN programs in that area to transfer to and I ran across Paris. I was wondering how long it took you to complete prereqs. Here in PA most of mine are done (except micro and psych) Is the prereq list extensive in your opinion?
I didn't think it was extensive. Pre-req's for LVN include A&P I and II and general psychology. Co-req's are lifespan, pharmacology and nutrition. Pre-req's for RN are all of the above courses along with Eng I. Co-req's for RN include Microbiology, sociology and visual/performing art class. They have it all listed on their website in case I have missed any. Paris is a really long distance from Fort Worth area. Good luck!
