I test next week and am hoping for some insight from anyone who has taken the exam. I have used the Mometrix study guide, but don't really like the old school format of the test. I am currently studying with StatPearls and the ANA course. What a disparity between the levels of difficulty! StatPearls questions have me terrified. I feel like they are written more for a prescriber than a nurse. If the questions are consistent with ANA, then I'd feel more confident. Can anyone who has passed this exam comment? Thanks you!

Hi there!

Hope you did well on your test!

I'm planning on taking the test too and have been using the ANA sample test. What resources helped you the most with the exam?

I passed! I have to say that the test was as odd as the NCLEX, minus any select all that apply! I used the Mometrix book first. Many of the answers to their questions were NOT in the read and study part. I bought the ANA PracticeIQ course, which had good questions. I also bought the Stat Pearls course. While I think I was on a first name basis with the editor by the time I was finished- there were multiple errors in the way some of the questions were written (and they did change them!)- I liked that they had links to articles and further education about topics I was weaker on. So, I spent a bit of money studying, but, for me, it passing meant one step higher on the pay scale, so totally worth it. The test says you get your results instantly, but you actually get them via email. Mine came by the time I started my car.

If you study the topics and approach the questions the same way you took the NCLEX, you’ll do well.

I’m a little geeky. I love questions.

Good Luck!

I love questions too! It’s how I study best. I’m trying to decide whether or not to also get the stat pearls course. Did they cover material that the exam asked? Would you recommend it?

Just like the NCLEX, I don’t think anything I studied was on the test. Statpearls is the most comprehensive guide, despite editing errors, and you will learn the most from it. The ANCC is probably most like the test, but since we basically are our own teachers, if you can afford it, I would also study StatPearls.

Good luck!
