Hi All!
I received my BS in biology with a minor in chemistry a few years ago, and have been working in the field of medical/scientific education (journals, pharmaceutical presentations, etc) ever since. For the last year or so, I've been increasingly interested in going back to school for nursing, and I feel like now is the time.
Unfortunately, despite visiting school website after school website, I feel completely in the dark as to what my next step should be. Do I really need to begin with a new bachelors? I maintained a high GPA in college and I've taken all the requisite courses on any school's list (except psychology). However, I can't take an accelerated program; I live alone in NYC and need my job to make ends meet. Am I missing something? I found a website mentioning BS-BSN programs, but can't find it in any of the school I'm looking at.
I guess I just really need some guidance as to what my options are and where I go from here. If someone knows NYC-area schools with programs that might work for me, I would be especially interested. I think my next step might be to contact school admissions directly, but I'm concerned about seeming like I didn't do my research, even though I have been!
Thank you so much for your advice!

If you can't go the Accelerated BSN/MSN route, because you need to continue working, maybe then go for the ADN. Then later do the MSN.
