online tutoring?

I am just finishing my MSN and am looking to get into online teaching. Every open position I find needs experience. I found in one of the threads here a job lead to a website that offers tutoring to nursing students. My thought came to what if I offered online tutoring myself. Does anyone know or think if I need to be affiliated with a company or if it would be OK to offer this myself? Any opinions? I would really appreciate any input on this idea.

I suppose you could if your were internet savvy and had your own website and knew how to manage google etc. so your site popped up early.

I wonder though, if students were willing to go outside of class, and spend time at their computers, they could get awfully far with search engines and chat rooms.

You'd have to stand out and be unique.

Thanks for your input. There is no legality issues with this idea right?

I don't think so. I don't believe any state board would have jursidiction. You're not offering a degree so the accrediting bodies shouldn't object. You give value for the money, the students shouldn't object. The only possible legality thing I can think of would be setting up a business and paying the appropriate taxes to the appropriate governments.
