Online Practices vs. actual test

Published

I am taking the TEAS Test in 7 days and I have been studying for 2 months. I got a 53% on the online practice assessment and a 55% on B online assessment. I need at least a 58% but to competitive I need a 64%. I've study the whole ATI book and have done all of the practice tests in the book. I also have the Secrets to the TEAS book. I'm freaking out because I've been studying but I didn't score how wanted to on the practice test. Any suggestions?

I'm in a similar boat as you (although I've scored an 84.7% and an 80.1% on online A&B respectively), and am freaking out too! I've been studying for the past 2 months, and I need to score in the high 80s to be super competitive to the schools I'm applying to. Most posters on this board have said that in their experience the actual TEAS is far easier than the online practice tests. A pattern I noticed is that people were scoring similarly on the TEAS and the McGraw-Hill practice tests, but that was just a personal observation.

I'm taking mine next Tuesday and trying not to enter full panic mode. Just keep reviewing and going over the TEAS guide, and you'll be fine. My biggest piece of personal advice is to be absolutely meticulous in the math section. That is really the only section you can guarantee yourself a high score, so take your time, and be excruciatingly detailed while you do your problems. Try to get 100% there, as it will help bring up the rest of your scores!

I found this post to be really helpful as well, although I just found it a few days ago so I'm a little too close to my test to take all the advice. I can push my test back, but at this point I just want to get it over with! Good luck!

Thank You and good luck to you too!!

Hi, if you don't mind sharing, how did you do? How was the exam in comparison to the two online practice tests from ati? Thanks.

I took my test yesterday and received a 93.3%. It was far easier than the online practice tests, at least in my experience. Very similar in both content and difficulty to the practice tests from the ATI study guide.

I have only taken practice assessment A so far and science was my lowest score( 58 %)! The questions were a lot more detailed then the material covered in the ATI manual. Was this your experience with the science section? Also, are the numbers in the math section "pretty" numbers as in numbers you can easily work with? ( +,-, 8,/) Thanks so much for the input and congrats on the awesome score!
