I was just curious to know if anyone is enrolled in the Nutrition class at Grayson County College that is offered online for Spring 09, or if there is anyone who has taken this class that could give a heads up as to what to expect from the course. I am currently taking all online classes this semester, but this is the only one that my blackboard hasn't allowed me to access yet so I'm getting nervous about it because I have already started getting a jump on the assignments for my other courses out of the way. I am really excited to be starting my pre-reqs for ns and I just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same experience with the course and I wanted to see if there was anyone that was taking it at the same time as me. TIA

i took nutrition online during the winter mini-mester (dec. 15th - jan 9th) online through navarro college. (it was my last pre-req for nursing school, so taking it in the mini-mester means i can apply to the rn program next month!) i'm taking my final tomorrow and will be done! yea! =)
i don't know about grayson or how an online class would be paced during a regular semester, but i didn't think it was too bad at all. it's just like all the other pre-req's for nursing...it takes time, effort and studying, but it's very "do-able". if you have your text book, you might start flipping through it.
you may want to get familiar with the structures and functions of the macromolecules (carbs, proteins & lipids) if you aren’t already. also, doing a little “pre-studying” of the krebs cycle, electron transport chain, etc. will help. i learned about it in a&p beforehand (and made an “a”), but they go a lot deeper in the nutrition class.
good luck to you!
Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear that you're done with your pre-reqs and I hope that you get accepted to the program you want.
Thanks! Good luck to you, too!

How did the nutrition class work out?
Online is definitely a pain! lol I ended up dropping the class because after the first assignment I knew that me reading the book cover to cover wouldn't help me learn it. Soooo, I dropped and will take it on campus if I decide to repeat it, which I hope I don't. It's not a requirement to get into the program I want:D, just to get my bsn.
