Has anyone taken the A&P course online? If so, how did you do the labs, such as the dissecting? Just curious as due to time constraints I was hoping to take it online including the lab part.

I'm currently doing an online A&P course through Community College of Denver (BIO 201/202). It's pretty decent and is accredited as a lab course. Each week, we read the text book, do online work (such as viewing histology slides, visiting interactive anatomy websites, etc), participate in discussions, take quizzes, and sometimes do labs on our own at home. This is review for me because I had a very good A&P course in massage school (which unfortunately wasn't accredited!). I don't know that I'd recommend this as one's only A&P course, but for review or for someone who has access to OTJ training contact with human bodies (massage therapists, etc.) I think it does the trick. Good luck!

I took A&P II and II w/Lab online through www.darton.edu
It's located in Albany, GA and fully accrediated. The teacher I took was an MD and she was fantastic! Labs were completed at home, including dissection of Sheep Brain, Kidney, Heart, and Cow Eyeball. The school sent out the specimens w/surgical gloves in the mail. I dissected, labeled, and took digital pics - sent in by email. Awesome! tests were administered by proctor. I went to a local librarian in my town. The teacher emailed her the tests, and i was timed, etc.
It was excellent! And, I really learned alot!
Good Luck!
Thank you all for your responses. I will definitely look into a little more. I guess you could even make the dissections a family event. Ha! Just kidding. I would have to keep the dogs away from the specimens.
