On line universities - how can I tell if my state will accept them?

Hello - let me start by saying that I chose this forum because it has the most people viewing it. I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post.

I am just starting out with this site and at the same time looking at obtaining my Medical Assistant degree from Keiser University on line. The catalog said that the degree is considered 'terminal' and is non-transferable.

My confusion lies in the statement made by the recruiter/consultant who said that Keiser is "regionally accredited" and all course work does transfer.

I do understand that it is up to the receiving school to decide if they want to accept the transfer in credits or not.

My goal is to NOT continue beyond the Medical Assistant role (I am 50 years old and this field is one where I will be able to work until I retire at 70).

My goals are to work in an environment that offers a comprehensive benefits package, and fosters a fun, and educational environment.

For the past 25 years, I have been in the Food Service and Hospitality industry. Prior to my career in FSHI, I studied nursing and was a certified assistant and also a Trained Medical Assistant in a long term care facility so I do know that I like the work and will feel rewarded and equally challenged.

My question2:

1. are the on-line universities good enough?

2. Is my new chosen career choice a good one?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lollie
