Hi all! I have a very specific question but I'm hoping someone on here might have some intel. My husband works at a boarding school and we both live on campus. The school wants to hire me for an on-call RN position (M-F, 11p-7a) but they have no idea what a fair pay rate would be and neither do I. We discussed the typical ‘on-call’ situation of a lower rate for holding the phone and a higher rate that kicks in if it rings. It’s hard to get a good sense of ‘average’ pay is because boarding school nursing is such a niche. It is also in the Bay Area of California so base RN pay (and cost of living) is pretty high. Does anyone have any insight/experience/thoughts on this? Or what typical on-call pay is for other specialties in the Bay Area? TIA!
