Hello! I'm in my mid 30's looking for a career change. I've contacted both Creighton and UNMC for a transcript evaluation. Creighton will accept all of my credits that I earned from my bachelor's degree back in 2011, but UNMC will not accept any math or science courses over 7 years old. To qualify and apply to Creighton, I will only need 4 prerequisites, but for UNMC I will need 12.
Because of this, the earliest I could apply to Creighton would be August 2022 and UNMC January 2023. I would hate to be declined for Creighton and not have the opportunity to apply for UNMC in January, but I don't want to take more classes than I can handle (I work full time currently) and jeopardize getting straight A's on my prerequisite courses. My current GPA is a 3.77 from the transfer credits.
I was always successful in math classes, but it's been over 10 years since I've opened a math book. Even though Creighton is not requiring math again, would it be beneficial to take algebra just as a refresher or is that unnecessary for the ABSN program?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
