Hey just wanted to see if everyone got the news that the accelerated program will be back in New Orleans. Personally I am ecstatic because if I do get in, it will be a 10 minute commute rather than 1.5 hours!!! Down side is, the contract is for two years at Tulane. Hopefully we'll all know soon if we get in!! GL!!!:D

Did you get a letter today? I am thrilled that they will be back in NO. Now, we have to wait to see if we get admitted. I hope everyone gets in. Good luck to everyone!!:roll

I hope everyone gets in, but there is over 200 applicants for 50 spots:o I'm keeping my head up knowing, if I don't get in, I'll keep trying!!!!

Hello everybody out there!

Quick question. Are you REQUIRED to sign a 2 years contract or ANY contract with Tulane once you are accepted to the OLOL accelerated RN program?? Could you choose not to sign anything?? I thought the contract was optional...

I believe it is an option to sign with Tulane Hospoital. The way I understand it is that you will receive a monthly stipend to help with tuition, childcare, etc. if you do sign with them. I do not think it is a requirement.

No, it is a requirement to be in the accelerated program. The reason they started this program was to help out with the staffing needs at Tulane. It is a contract to work for two years.

WOW! I did not know that. I guess this program will mainly work for local (folks in Louisiana), or students from other states who are still single with no kids.

9 months away from my family to get an RN degree sounds worth it, but an extra 2 years, mmmmmmhh:o :o

Okay, I emailed OLOLC just to be sure, so I wasn't telling you guys anything false. The contract is not an option. Good Luck everyone and can't wait to meet ya'll during orientation. Here's to acceptance letters!!!!!!!!!!!!
