Older student, advise on first healthcare job, sophomore fund. student

Looking for advise on resume writing, which position to focus on, and how to approach organization. I am a 40 something education professional pursuing an RN. I am in my Fundamentals semester and will start clinicals next semester. Haven't needed a job until now but with 2 kids in college plus myself, I find I need one. I have searched the forums and find general info but think that with a bit of more of my personal background, you all can give me more pointed advise from your wealth of experience. I am volunteering at a hospital but would probably look at one nearby that has more opportunity than the one I am at. Most places look at me and immediately think that I am over qualified for most jobs. Thanks!!!:banghead:

I too am just finishing pre-req's. I applied to many hospitals, many times over for an admin type job which is where all my experience is. When I was finally granted an interview with a live person I explained my desire to pursue nursing. I think that when you are passionate about something, people pick up on it. I told them it would take me a few years, so I wouldn't be leaving real soon. I got the job and the pay cut was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be!! Keep trying!:clown:
