Old New Grad

Published

I graduated LVN school, took my NCLEX and the day I found out I passed I also found out I was pregnant. This was January 2009. Since I was pregnant I decided to not look for a job and just concentrate on the pregnancy. I had a son and then decided to be a SAHM and a year later decided I wanted another baby. Fast forward to 2019, Ive kept up with my license every year, and even taken some courses and now I finally am ready to work since my boys now attend school full time. Is it possible anyone would hire me. What can I do to improve my chances. I'm sure I've forgotten stuff, is there such thing as a refresher course or anything anyone suggests. Help me, I need a job in Southern California, San Bernardino County.

same here I got my lvn licensed couple years ago before i got pregnant with my 2nd baby and graduated BSN in phil decided to be SAHM and now ready to work as a nurse but i dont know how to start.btw i graduated since 2008.no hospital experience but 2 yrs in clinic setting but that was 8yrs ago .i feel so behind ?

You can apply at home health agency as lvn shift care in a pt home 1:1. They hire new grads in Ca.

Yes, I agree a home health agency doing shift care will likely hire you. I live in SB county as well. Home healthcare agencies that are always hiring are Premier healthcare services, Maxim healthcare services, and 24 Seven Home Health, just off the top of my head. There are many more. You can also reach out to Ensign Services, they staff skilled nursing facilities and are always hiring. If you are looking for hospitals, apply at San Antonio Community in Upland and Kindred Hospital also hire LVN's all the time. Dignity Health Hospital in SB also hires LVN's, I also know they offer internship opportunities, that always looks great on resumes. Good luck, I would love to hear how it goes for you.
