Oklahoma and Excelsior

Published

I have been doing a lot of research regarding the Excelsior LPN/RN program. I must say I am a bit nervous. I know Oklahoma Board of Nursing requires the 60 additional clinical hours for OB and Psych in order to be allowed to sit for the boards. Which if this is the only inconvenience then the Pros will still outweigh the Cons. I would like to talk with someone in Oklahoma who has done this Excelsior program. Here is what has changed recently in the traditional LPN to RN programs. OCCC, where I was planning on attending, has now extended the LPN bridge program from 2 semesters to three semesters. I was bummed to find this out and so I started researching and found the Excelsior program. I have read a lot of complaints regarding the CPNE but also read a lot of posts that if a person adequately prepares for this, it IS doable. I would love to talk with a Oklahoma RN who has done this route. Anyone out there that can help???
