Odds are not in my favor getting into the program

Published

I am pretty miserable lately. I have always wanted to become a nurse, and my dreams, seems like will never come true.

I am 25 years old and I first started to get into a community college nursing program, but the waiting lists were just too long.

Now I am attending Southern illinois university of Edwardsville.

Their acceptance is bases of first semester class grades, GPA for that semester and then all together gpa. Which sucks because I have always been a B student.

My first semester grades are these:

Human Biology= A

Organic Chemistry I= B

Chemistry Lab= A

English 101= A

Psychology= B

Speech= B

I have retaken biology to get the A (up from a C) and I retook the chemistry to get the B (up from a D) I retook english 101 to get an A (up from a B)

well anyways my overrall gpa for that semester is 3.44 for all semesters combined its a 3.34

I emailed my nursing advisor the min gpa for first semester only two years ago was 3.1 and last year was a 3.4

My school changed from accpeting 150 every fall and no spring to 100 fall and 100 spring. and they have already started a direct acceptance for some students directly from highschool which sucks.

I dont find out if i get in until april/may.

The schools around me do point systems and its based on first trys only so i really dont know what to do.

I just dont think the odds are in my favor.

Any advice?
