Hello Everyone,
Just thought I would try to open up discussions for the LPN's with any pre, current and or graduate students from the Oakland Community College program.
Would love to have you share any positive or negative stories in attaining your goals to become an LPN. I realize majority are going for the RN program, but for me and at this point in my life this is the best alternative.
My application for entrance was denied twice (2006 & 2007). I was totally discouraged then but I'm not totally defeated now. Plan on giving it a 3rd try for Winter 2009.

Hi, I am also an OCC student. I am currently trying to get into the RN program, but I am also considering LPN. Did they happen to give you any indication of why you did not get accepted.
I did not get accepted the first time (Winter 2007) program since it was done by earliest completion date and I finished A&P in Summer 2006 and there were at that time 80 applicants and only 30 allowed to program.
My second attempt was for Winter 2008 and they just started with the GPA system for admission the LPN program. I had a 3.385. My rejection letter stated 98 applicants and again taking only 30 students with GPA's from 3.5 to 4.0
