I am in same situation like most of the new graduates in NJ, after reading other posts I think searching jobs in NY is a good idea, please let me know hospitals in NY which are easily accessable from NJ and which would hire new RN's. THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE.

Columbia Presbyterian is a stone's throw from the George Washington Bridge. They do hire new grads, though not always in every department.

New grads with an ADN are also considered for employment and not just those with BS right ?
yes, they do...
thanks for the reply my friend. do you know if there is a possibility for a new grad to get an ICU/Critcal care position ? My plans are to apply to a CRNA program as soon as possible. Just trying to map everything out now. I am a career changer with a BA, let me know what you think. If you have any ideas on how the ICU position can happen sooner please share.
these are the positions new grads are considered for at the NYP website
Specialty Areas:
New graduate RN's are accepted into the following specialty areas, depending on the current needs of the unit:
Medical/Surgical
Behavioral Health
Neuroscience/Neurology
Transplant
Geriatrics
Orthopedics
Oncology
Rehabilitation
Weill Cornell Operating Room
Critical Care/Stepdown - Is this considered ICU ?
Women's and Children's Health
Thanks in advance !
I think they hire new grads into critical care areas all the time. If they are anytning like my unit, you'll get anywhere from 18-28 weeks of solid orientation.
Methinks they rolled critical care and stepdown into one.
Keep your eyes out for NYPs nurse residency program for new grads. That might be your ticket into critical care. Otherwise, keep applying online for ICU-type positions, and try to get a face-time interview with a recruiter.
I hear the best experience for CRNA admissions purposes is CTICU/CVRU/CCU, etc....
