NVCC TEAS Exam Help

Published

Hi guys! This is my first post on allnurses. My name is James Kim and I am a current student at the Northern Virginia Community College. I will be taking the TEAS soon at NVCC so that I can apply by May for the fall program. I am studying my Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam book and having difficulty with the vocab portion. The reading portion is sort of iffy for me at the moment, but I can do more practice and get better at that. I have the math portion down. The vocab section seems to be the most difficult for me.

Has anyone taken the NVCC TEAS recently? If so, I am extremely curious on how you did. Is the vocab a huge portion of the test? I was given an outline of the NVCC TEAS test, and it says "contextual vocab." I understand what that means, but I am wondering if it will have the "most nearly means," "means the opposite of," and the classic bridges for analogies.

Besides the TEAS, I am taking my last prereq this semester; microbiology. I currently hold a 3.61 and with an A from micro, I should have a 3.7 something. Hopefully that will be alright.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading! :)
