Nurses General Nursing

Hello Everyone:

I am studying at a JC over in Santa Ana, California and I am looking into becoming a nurse. I have applied at my JC's nursing school, but the waitlist is approx. 2 years and then another 2 for the program. I am also looking into getting my b.s. in biological science, so thought I could apply to a university while I wait for the R.N. program to call me. However, because of the budget crisis, it doesn't look like I will be able to get into the Cal State's over here and so my only other option is the UC's. Unfort, my gpa is a mere 2.36 (due to my poor studying habits :p). My grades have improved to A's and B's for the past year now but this GPA does cripple me. I saw that Cal State Fullerton has a program for anyone with a Bach. to get into their Master's Program and receive their R.N. at the same time. Does anyone else have information on different ways to go about getting your R.N. and also working towards getting your b.s. at the same time? I really want to make use of the time I have and get the most out of it. I do not want to attend those private schools, where you have to pay like 20k a year and onl leave with my R.N. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
