Well, I've finally done it. I've officially given up on ever getting an Associates Degree in Nursing lol. I've decided to go ahead and finish the classes necessary for an Associates Degree in Science then transfer to a local university's nursing program. I feel my chances will be better since everyone at the local 2 year schools in my area seem to be majoring in nursing while the university's program goes pretty much unnoticed. So if all goes well I will be done in December of next year and ready to begin in spring 2012. Has anyone else come to this conclusion?

I know the field of nursing is definitely inundated, but I'm glad that you aren't giving up on obtaining your nursing degree. I remember when I first entered college, it seemed like everyone was majoring in Psychology. Now, going back to school, everyone (including me) is majoring in nursing.
I wish you all the best in your pursuit of a BSN. I think your plan is good, because if you just sit around hoping for the ASN to open up, you can move on a finish with your BSN.
Thank you for your encouragement. I would have loved to have my ADN but between increasing community college enrollments and budget cuts I don't see it happening. But deciding to pursue my BSN instead will offer new opportunities such as ROTC scholarships and summer externships. There's always a silver lining.
