What made you want to become a nurse??What are the negatives and the positives; the rewards and the stress??

Hello everyone,I'm new here!!! I'm a junior in college and I'm thinking about changing my major and study nursing but I'm not really sure. I heard stories from unhappy nurses and not sure what to do or who to talk to. In the news---I'm reading and hearing about shortage of nurses, strikes and bad working conditions. I want to know the pros and cons of nursing.

I'm not a nurse yet, but I am in school. I think the main thing that made me want to be a nurse is the fact that I love to help people. That's not the only reason, but I think it's one of the bigger reason's why I decided to go back to school. I'm doing it to make a better life for me and my daughter, and just for my overall sake of happiness. I hate the current field I'm in and despise sitting behind a desk all day long. I need more action in my day!

Nursing is not for everyone, and that is a decision you need to make on your own if it's what you want to do with your life. School is hard and demanding, but it will be worth it if it's what you want!
