Nursing in Switzerland/Germany/United States?

Published

I am an American just getting started with the college process. I would like to be able to easily move to Switzerland and work as a nurse. I found a school in Germany (University of Education Freiburg) that I love and might be able to make work. However, if for some reason I have to come back to the States, that nursing degree will be worthless and I'll have to start all over (not an option as my parents are paying). If I get a BSN here, however, it will be valid in Germany but not Switzerland, so I'll have to start all over again anyway. Plus, going to college in Germany would be a great way to pick up the language, and I know there are language exams to do nursing in Switzerland. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. If I go to school here, is there any way I can make it work in Switzerland? Germany is just a great transitional place. I would live there to get the language and I think a nursing degree from Germany is worth more to Switzerland than an American degree. Please help! PS. I've googled the heck out of this and it's all really confusing, so if you know of any resources where I could talk to someone for help with the whole process and get more information, that would be great. Thanks!
