Nursing student relocating

I moved to Texas from Pennsylvania after I graduated and I regret it. They basically only hire nurses twice a year as GN's or interns so even though I graduated in December, I can't get a job until June. To answer your question, You have have to apply to the Texas board of nursing. You will have to get fingerprints, send in a passport photo (you can get it at walgreen's for a few bucks). You will also have to get an affadavit of graduation completed by the dean of your nursing school and then send it to the tx board of nursing. You also have to pay a fee to the TX board of nursing which i believe is $129. You also need to sign up with Pearsonvue to take the NCLEX which costs $200 (I think). If I were you, I would find out how long your school takes to complete an affadavit of graduation. Depending on how long they take, you may not have enough time to get a GN permit to begin practiciing in June when all the internships begin. Then you will have to wait until December to start working. Do the research because it might be better for you to take a job where you are at.
