When I was going to nursing school, I worked per diem as a nurse apprentice (NAP). I lived in NV and many hospitals had this NAP program. A nurse apprentice (in NV) can administer meds and perform nursing skills that have been previously learned in nursing school. Some exceptions apply, including no IV medications and no narcotics. I am really glad I worked as a NAP...it gave me some good experience and made my resume stand out a little bit. :) good luck!!

Hi everyone,
I just finished my first year as a nursing student and I was looking for a part time job. I was really hoping to find a job in the medical field, with hopes of gaining some experience and getting a taste of what working in a hospital is like. The problem is I do not have any experience working in hospitals. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make myself a more appealing candidate for a job in a hospital. Thank You
