Nursing Shoes For Flat Feet

Published

Hello everyone!

I will be starting an ADN program soon and am wondering what shoes to get for clinicals. I have completely flat feet and have to get white shoes with a back. I also have lordosis, so it's important for me to get a good quality shoe to minimize back pain, if possible.

Which shoes have been most comfortable for you? Or what inserts or orthotics are most helpful?

Thanks in advance,

Shweta

I have flat feet and scoliosis. I purchased Alegria shoes for my clinical rotations, but I was soon hired as a Nursing Assistant at the hospital where I did clinicals. I ended up buying Danskos for work, and I LOVE them. Congrats on beginning your program!

Thank you! :D

I've heard that Danskos can take some time to wear in though. What are your thoughts about that?

I have flat feet and I'm significantly overweight, which only adds to the problem. I found Danskos to be uncomfortable, despite TONS of people loving them but bought a pair of Brooks running shoes and absolutely love them. I have been on my feet for the majority of my shift and not had foot pain. I tried on a ton of different recommended brands before finding the right one for me, so definitely try out a few. Good luck!

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too. I'm leaning towards non-Dansko shoes at the moment, but I want a couple different options available.
