Hi, I go to FIU and I am starting my official nursing courses this Fall...just got accpeted (yay!) :) . They only allow 70 students in each fall and spring and the minimum GPA to apply is 3.0. People who get in usually have higher GPAs than that, though, and it's pretty competative.
I also applied to Barry University earlier this year and got in no problem. I don't want to go there, though, because it's pretty expensive ($11,000 a year). :uhoh21:
I don't know much about University of Miami, though. Sorry. Waaaaaaaay to expensive for me.
There's also Florida Atlantic University in Boca, and I think they have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and start each fall.
I don't know much about the ADN programs, since I've been at FIU from the beggining. I only know of Miami-Dade.
Hope that helps and good luck! :)

I go to Fl A&M, only 40 people are accepted each semester (fall/spring), however, they accepted 46 people in the fall so only 34 of us would be accepted for the spring. I think that all nursing programs are competitive because of limited acceptance. During my last semester of pre reqs last fall I filled out the application, which was general demographics and a few short essay questions. I had to have a physical, shot records and a TB test, which had to be done within a certain time frame. For this years incomming, these wont be required until after acceptance. I had to keep at least $500 handy for the uniform, back ground check and CPR certification (we had to take the class together, even if u alread y took it, so that everyone would be on one accord) in case I got accepted. Then I had to wait and wait and wait. Finally, I got a phone call telling me that I was accepted.
