I was wondering what nursing school is like. Is it jam packed with info so you have to study 24/7? I heard that they gve to much info for you to learn in one setting, is this true? Waht do you find hard abaout Nrsing school academically? What should i be preraired for?

It's different for each person. All I can really say is that it's a lot of work, reading, preparing and stress. No, I don't study 24/7....that would be unhealthy. But, I do study often.....you have to, or else you won't pass! It might seem like the instructors give "too much info" but that's because they don't expect you to completely absorb the material right then and there; they expect you to be reading/learning/practicing at home as well.
So, yes, nursing school is a lot of work. But please don't believe everything you hear, as it's a slightly different experience for each student.

Nursing school is a whole different animal, especially if you've taken other college courses before.
Be prepared to study.. A LOT. I coasted by, not having to study much at all for my previous bachelors degree. Yeah.. not so much this time around. Nursing is something you actually have to learn.. retain.. and apply. You will continue to build on information learned previously and you'll have to start thinking critically and putting 2+2 together.
My med/surg 1 class is a 9 hr course.. we have nursing theory, pharm, and math all in one class. What makes it good though, is that we have individual tests for each section.. makes it a little easier. I have a few complaints about my program, but overall, it's alright.
There is a ton of info that is given out. My first week of class my head was spinning and I was freaking out thinking that I just wouldn't be able to handle everything. They gave us a schedule of everything we were doing in the semester, day by day. But I was wrong, I'm doing really well. It's just something you have to set your mind to. You can do it, it just takes work and effort. Don't freak out about things that are 3 weeks ahead.. focus on what you're doing in the next week.. makes things less stressful (at least for me). The work itself isn't that hard.. it's just there is a lot of it. I'd say all the paperwork is the worst part. Be prepared to study study study. And be prepared to ditch your friends a lot if there is something fun going on.. you just won't have time. haha, at least that's how it is for me. :wink2:
