Nursing school schedules/insiders

Published

Hi all, so i've applied and im awaiting some interviews and answers from the following (all for spring 2020): Keiser accelerated BSN, Barry University, Nova, and UCF+Valencia concurrent. Anyone also applied to these programs? or already in them that can tell me what the day to day is like?

I’m starting the ABSN at Keiser on the 3rd. The schedule is crazy busy - five days a week, with clinicals starting the fifth week from 6:30 to 7 pm one day per week. I have a friend at Nova who likes it and it’s definitely not as intense. Both are very expensive though so I’d personally suggest going a public route if at all possible. I like Keiser and the director at my campus is great which I think helps provide us with great clinical sites but man is it expensive.

Yeah the schedule at keiser definitely worries me. and were you able to receive scholarships? also, how many classes do you start off taking?

There’s plenty to apply for, I’ve recently started filling them out so hopefully I get some to help but I also get almost full pell which helps a bit. For private school BSNs though it’s significantly cheaper since Keiser charges per semester not per credit hour.

Oh, and it’s 6 classes the first semester. 21 credit hours total. The next three are 4 classes but from what I’ve heard from other students it doesn’t necessarily get “less intense” with there being less classes.

Hi Bnc1992,

Thank you for all your post, they really did help answer some of my questions while I was applying. I am starting in the cohort August 2020, it has been a long waiting period for myself, just glad I am finally starting. How has it been with covid? I hear most is done online at this moment. I would love to start prepping as much as possible. I am wondering what are the first 6 class subjects the cohort starts with? I have been out of school for 3 years now, so I feel as though I really need to prep as much as possible to get into the rhythm of what is to come, I hear it is very intense.

Thank you for taking the time with these post.
